Preparation first

What is underneath matters

Before anything is fixed, we look properly at the surface we are working with. Levels, movement, moisture and the condition of the background all make a difference, so any preparation that is needed is dealt with first rather than worked around later.

The right materials for the area

Different tiles, backgrounds and rooms need different products. Adhesives, grout, trims, primers and preparation materials are chosen around the actual job, whether that is a wet area, a large-format floor, an external section or a heavily used commercial space.

We check the job before we leave

Once the tiling is complete, we go back over the room rather than treating the last tile as the end of the job. Joints, trims, corners, edges, silicone lines and the overall finish are checked so anything that needs attention is picked up before handover.

Finishing details

Setting out before cutting

We work out the main lines before fixing starts, especially around doorways, windows, sanitaryware, worktops and other focal points. That means the cuts and grout joints are considered as part of the whole room, rather than being decided one wall or one corner at a time.

The awkward bits still have to look right

Sockets, corners, trims, pipework, changes in level and awkward edges are where a lot of tiling jobs either come together or start to look untidy. We take the time to make those details deliberate, with clean cuts and sensible transitions rather than trying to hide them afterwards.

Made to work after the photos are taken

The finished room still has to work once it is being used every day. We want the tiling to look right when the job is handed over, but also to remain practical, easy to maintain and properly finished once furniture, fittings, water, foot traffic and normal day-to-day use are back in place.
